Preparing for a Halloween Party
Halloween: a time of thrills and scares for some, but a time for parties for others! We at TPS have great tips and tricks to make this season’s party the best one yet, from the decorations to the food. Your party is sure to be unforgettable!
A must-have for a Halloween Party is candy—lots of it! Have multiple bowls of candy placed around the party area to guests to help themselves. You can also put up decorations in the colors of orange and black, or even purple. You can place pumpkins, carved or uncarved, around to act as decor as well.
Guests love a backdrop to take photos with their friends! Section of a part of a wall and hang streamers, posters, and other decor items. Make sure to place props in an easy-to-reach spot as well.
For your Halloween party, set out a variety of appetizers and finger foods for your guests. While getting quick snacks from the grocery store may be convenient, wow your guests by serving some of these easy treats!
For those leaning towards sweets...
Make a batch of your favorite brownies, and use cookie cutters in Halloween shapes such as ghosts, bats, pumpkins, and others, and finish off your creations with decorative icing!
Want a classic fall treat? Make your own candy apples! In order to make the coating syrup, combine sugar, corn syrup and water over medium-high heat, and stir until sugar dissolves. Once the syrup reaches 250°F, add any flavors such as cinnamon or vanilla, and continue stirring until it reaches 300°F. You can take it off the heat and add any coloring; then your apples are ready to be dipped!
For those leaning towards savory...
Thin strips of pastry dough have been used by many to recreate a mummy-like texture surrounding meatballs or sausages; try out a recipe for your next party!
There may not be a better time of the year to make a batch of deviled eggs! Try experimenting with different flavor combinations as well, like smoked salmon, broccoli and cheese, or chili.
Your guests are sure to love these Halloween treats, but it takes more than food to get into the festive spirit. Set up party games, like bobbing for apples, hitting a pinata, or even carving pumpkins! Put your creations on display as extra decor when trick-or-treaters come around.
Preparing for a Halloween party is fun as you decorate and prepare foods and games, but it won’t compare to the fun your guests have at your party!
