Coping with Daylight Savings Time
This past weekend brought the end of Daylight Savings Time, known as “Fall Back”. We all gained an extra hour, which may have been spent on sleeping or working. Getting used to the brightness in the morning and the quick darkness in the late afternoon can take a few days, but changing your sleeping pattern may be harder. We at TPS have you covered on how to best adapt to this sign of autumn, read on for tips and tricks!
Getting used to the hour change is difficult since our sleep cycles are each an hour and a half long. Being interrupted into the thirty-minute mark is the worst for you; you’ll feel more exhausted!
If you’re already not getting enough sleep, the time change can be worsening. Here are some tips:
Use light to your advantage to mimic the morning or night. Your brain associates light with morning, so this will trick your brain.
Exercise helps regulate your circadian rhythms throughout the day, so exercise early in the day.
Give yourself more sleep! Go to bed earlier to combat the hour difference.
Stay consistent with your morning and bedtime routine.
Keep in mind the light changes when you’re walking in the morning and in the evening.
Take advantage of the extra hour! Participate in hobbies, work, or get an extra hour of rest if you need it. Transforming Property Solutions is located at 223 W 3rd Street, Sanford, FL 32771.
